All that glimmers

Have you heard of glimmers? Tiny moments in your day that light you up? It’s a term used in mental health, kind of the opposite to a trigger, and helps you to appreciate and focus on the little things. Cino dates feature pretty highly on our glimmer chart, especially with our little cino drinkers.

Here’s a few more of our weekend favourites, do any of these show up in your glimmer list?

  • Flicking through the Weekend Australian on a Saturday morning and the solo walk up the road to buy it (although rarely getting time to read an article in full)…
  • Eating chocolate squares in the pantry after dinner (unbeknownst to the kids who are still working their way through dinner at the table)
  • Getting special words from our happy cino drinkers – words of endearment are our love language
  • Running down to the beach. Those first ocean glimpses are the best (I’m a terrible runner btw, legs fly out like Bambi, very short distances). Just so you don’t get the impression that I’m like a ‘runner’
  • Baby giggles typically brought on by big bro or sis
  • Friendship time, as simple as a coast walk or park wine
  • Grounding time in the great outdoors and a healthy dose of sunshine
  • Working our way through season 3 of Succession in 20 minute blocks because I am so bone tired by the end of the day
  • Snagging that winning shopping centre car park on a busy weekend
  • New books on the Kindle – cue those pesky little Amazon charges
  • Enjoying slow mornings watching little imaginations at play
  • Spotting one of our baby cino cups in the wild (aka the cafe) – never fails to excite.
  • Does your glimmer list look anything like this one? I was going to end with a line from that 90’s Fuel song but just realised he uses ‘shimmers’ not ‘glimmer’s. All that glimmers in this world :)
