From little things…

I started dreaming up Little Cino Social when my little girl was just 2 and we’d just begun a ritual of daily babycinos. It wasn’t until after my son came along that I was able to commit to making my daydream happen.

The first drop

It all began when I couldn’t find any small reusable babycino cups for my cino loving daughter. Slowly, (achingly so) I started to imagine what such a cup would look like. I sourced a manufacturer and created a mould made for little hands and mouths. Next, I got to have some fun, working with a local artist to create a range of designs that would appeal to kids and their carers. We endeavoured to create beautiful, unique little artworks that could be shrunk to babycino-sized proportions and a far cry from generic kids prints. Getting those initial sample cups in the mail was a defining moment for the business and the reception was an immediate indicator to my worries of ‘will anyone even like these?’

And now, 4 years, 14 designs, stockists nationwide, and Little Cino Drinkers worldwide, here we are.

I love that we have a photo journey (aka insta) of the kids and their babycino cups over the last few years. The cups are the same (albeit with many more designs- we now have 14 unique creations available) but my little cino drinkers are a whole lot bigger. It’s pretty incredible how our shared love of cino dates and lack of reusable cup options for little people planted the seed for a whole new chapter for our little crew. Fellow small biz owners, I’d love to know what planted the seed for your business idea and when you knew it was the right time to action it?
